Fire department holds open house

Tue, 10/18/2016 - 10:00am

Firefighters from around the Midcoast, emergency responders and area residents descended upon the Boothbay Fire Station on Oct. 11 for the Boothbay Fire Department’s annual open house during Fire Prevention Week.

Fire engines, rescue boats, Damariscotta Fire Department’s smoke trailer and other firefighting equipment were on display and free food — hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, grilled sausages and more — was enjoyed by all. Over 100 people attended the two-hour event.

Fire prevention material was handed out and Sparky the fire dog greeted the kids as they rang the bells and sirens of the fire engines.
