Family Night at Boothbay Elementary

On April 7, Boothbay Region Elementary School (BRES) hosted family night; a three-event fundraiser featuring a book fair, an art exhibit from students, and the freshman class showing off its culinary skills for the general public. On the first floor, BRES Parent-Teacher Organization President Mary Baudo manned the cash register and sold raffle tickets with volunteer Anna Giles. The grand prize is a bicycle with the winner being announced in May.

“There are typically three book fairs a year,” Baudo said. “This one raises money directly for the PTO.”

A short flight of stairs away, student art was on display featuring everything from robots made from masking tape to traditional watercolors. The event concluded with the freshman class preparing dinner as part of its $4,500 fundraising goal for senior year expenses.
