She spent every summer from age five months in Bayville with her family, aunts and uncles, cousins, many friends, and later with her children and grandchildren. She was the fourth generation to live in Rock Cottage in Bayville.

Living her motto “a life without friends is like a garden without flowers.” She made friends wherever she was, and stayed in contact with them as well as connecting them with each other. An avid reader, she was up to date on books, theatre, and movies. With her husband John, she traveled widely and loved museums and regular visits to New York City.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John S. Eddy; her daughter, Hilary Eddy Lafferty and her husband Wayne Lafferty; three grandchildren, Kristin, Ashlyn and Megan Lafferty; two brothers Charles (Smokey) and David Stover; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
