Elizabeth H. McDougall

Elizabeth Hodgdon McDougall died peacefully at the Gregory Wing on Aug. 31, 2015, with her loving family by her side.

Elizabeth was born at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor on Jan. 29, 1922, to Harrison Hodgdon and May (Pierce) Hodgdon.

Elizabeth graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in 1940. She moved to Pensacola, Florida, after high school to be with the love of her life, Elliot McDougall. They were married on Feb. 14, 1942, in Pensacola.

When Elliot went to serve his country during World War II, Elizabeth moved back to Boothbay Harbor to be near her family. After the war, Elliot came back to Boothbay Harbor where he and Elizabeth lived the rest of their lives, married for 57 years.

Elizabeth was mostly a homemaker, but she also worked at the Fisherman’s Inn gift shop and at the Boothbay Register for Roy Kelly. She loved spending time with her family, her kids and grandkids. She often traveled to Florida in the winters to see her brother, George.

During her younger years, Elizabeth was member of the Eastern Star.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Elliot; her sister, Florence Carbone; and her brother, George Hodgdon.

She is survived by her daughter, Sally Donahue and her husband, Tom, of Boothbay Harbor; her daughter, Sandra Page and her husband, Stanley, of Boothbay Harbor; her grandchildren, Tammy Page of Boothbay, Travis Timberlake and his wife Leah of Boothbay Harbor, Julie Markee and her husband Kenneth of Boothbay, Sandy Tibbetts and her husband Tyler of Southport, and Jennifer Osman and her husband Mohamed of Boothbay Harbor.

She is also survived by her 14 great grandchildren, Jackie Markee and her partner Alex Gorey, Taylor Timberlake, Nick Timberlake, Kameron Markee, Jasmine Partner, Page Markee, Noelle Timberlake, Aryn Markee, Olivia Partner, Wyatt Timberlake, Mitchell Partner, Joey Markee, Zaid Osman, and Trey Tibbetts; and one great-great-granddaughter, Mia Gorey.

Elizabeth is also survived by a very special cousin, Maxine Tourtillotte of Boothbay Harbor; her nephew, Robert Carbone of Southport; her niece, Beverly Vitale of Florida; her sister and brother in-law, Laura and John Arsenault of Boothbay Harbor; and her sister and brother in-law, Joyce and Chandler McDougall of Florida.

A memorial service will be held for Elizabeth on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. at Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, with a graveside service to follow at Oceanview Cemetery. Following the graveside service, a reception will be held at The Gallery, 102 Ocean Point Road, Boothbay Harbor. All are welcome.
