Downtown Boothbay Harbor on a mid-August day

Fri, 08/21/2015 - 3:45am

Despite the lack of sunshine and the oppressively high humidity level recently in Boothbay Harbor, people and pets have been out in droves, sightseeing at the waterfront, eating ice cream, and lining up on the wharf to head out on some of the different cruises offered.

There was a musician playing on the wharf at Pier 1 on Thursday, Aug. 20. A large audience was enjoying his music and dropping money in the hat propped in front of him.

People were enjoying ice cream cones and pizza, and a few were cooling off with beers at the outside area of Pier 1 Pizza.

Dogs were having as much fun as their owners, checking each other out, and getting licks from their best friends' ice cream cones. One woman had her two pups in a baby carriage.

Even the bees were having a field day gathering nectar from the rosa rugosa bushes at the Whale Park.

Here are some snapshots taken around town on Aug. 20. Send your own summertime photos to pix@boothbayregister.com for publication consideration.
