Down East Yacht Club gathers from Maine to Florida

Tue, 02/09/2016 - 11:45am

The Down East Yacht Club gathered on Jan. 23rd at the home of Jack and Barbara Brennan of Edgecomb. They opened up their beautiful home to about 28 members. The floor plan is open and flowing as was the conversations. Lots of great appetizers were enjoyed by all. In attendance was the commodore and fleet captain who both gave information on the upcoming season, DEYC's 50th anniversary. The Brennans also called Mark and Barbara Williams in Cortez, Florida to wish them a great evening as members gathered there in Florida on the same night.

The Williamses welcomed about 30 members to their beautiful home on the water in Cortez, Florida. Wonderful appetizers and conversation were enjoyed by all; the host had a special dessert for the occasion. She showed her talent by making a 50th anniversary cake in the shape of the DEYC burgee. Also, 50th anniversary wishes went out to John and Pat Ridlon. Hip, hip, hooray!

Our gathering in Venice, Florida this year, with a Maine lobster bake, will be on March 10, coordinated by Bob and Paula Wheeler and crew. Sandy and Karen Young are hosting the evening event on March 9 at their home in Venice. Hope to see you all there.
