Dorothy Harold Conner, 83, of Brookline, Mass., formerly of West Boylston, Mass. died peacefully September 25, 2015.

Born January 26, 1932 in Worcester, Mass. to Myrtle S. and Raymond P. Harold, she spent many summers in Boothbay Harbor sailing and working at the family business, Spruce Point Inn.

A graduate of Emma Willard School and Wheaton College, she taught briefly in the Newton public schools, until her marriage to Lester Conner Jr. She then turned her focus to service work: leading Brownie and Girl Scout troops; teaching Sunday school and singing in choir; PTA; and devoting her remaining years to active involvement in area 12 step groups.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Robson and her husband Jim Cavanaugh of Wiscasset and Sarah Conner and her husband Arthur Dalton of Southport; granddaughters, Kristen Cavanaugh and Kate and Beth Robson; and darling great-grandchildren, Natalie and Cailun Robertson.

She will also be missed by her sisters, Charlotte Harold Druce of Spruce Point, Boothbay Harbor, Ruth Harold Zollinger of Tucson, Ariz. and Boothbay Harbor; brothers-in-law, John Druce and Robert Zollinger; as well as numerous lifelong friends.

A private memorial service will be held in Maine in the spring.
