The Boothbay Region YMCA Dolphin swim team made a good showing at the State YMCA swim meet held at the University of Maine March 2-4.

And what a difference a year makes. This year, 32 swimmers competed, with 14 swimmers earning trophies as top-8 finishers; there were 29 heat-winner ribbons earned; 10 relay teams competing; 36 ribbons awarded for 9th through 16th place; there were 47 best times recorded; and 373 points were scored. In 2017, the team had only 20 swimmers compete; four top-8 finishers; four heat-winner ribbons awarded; three relay teams competing; and only 130.5 points were scored.

Competing against several much larger teams, the Boothbay Y boys placed 14th and the girls placed 15th.
