Dolores E. Lechleitner

Dolores Edith Lechleitner, 87, of Millbrook, New York and formerly of Yorktown Heights, New York, died June 27, 2017 at her home in Millbrook, New York.

Dolores was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Aug. 16, 1929. She was the daughter of John W. and Milfred Willis Flood.

On Aug. 2, 1947 she married George J. Lechleitner and began what would be a long and loving marriage.

Dolores was a devoted wife and caring mother who worked hard to help provide a wonderful home for all her children.

Dolores was employed as a teacher’s aide in the Yorktown School System for 25 years, as well as a teacher’s aide in the Millbrook School System. She volunteered at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Connecticut. Dolores enjoyed quilting, reading, crossword puzzles, her many cats, spending time in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, traveling with her husband, having lunch with friends, as well as spending countless hours with all her children.

In addition to her husband, George, Dolores is survived by her four children:George Jr., Diane Maass and her husband, Douglas, Lois Gair and her husband, Brian and Scott Lechleitner and his wife, Regina. Also surviving are her two beloved feline companions, Sandy and Buffy.

A memorial service will be held at 1p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Grace Episcopal Church, 3328 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, New York.Interment will follow in Nine Partners Cemetery, Millbrook, New York. Following the interment, a gathering of family and friends will occur at the Parish Hall at Grace Episcopal Church. All are welcome to attend. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
