The DaPonte String Quartet will be performing the “Then and Now” concert series around the Midcoast in July and August.

Selections include the world premiere of Rocco Havelaar “Quartet No. 3;” Bach's “Three Contrapuncti” from “The Art of the Fugue:” Mendelssohn's “Quartet No. 2 in A Minor, Op.13” and Beethoven's “Quartet No.8 in E Minor, Op. 59, No.2.” Not all of the same works will be presented at every location.

DaPonte will be in Boothbay at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens' (CMBG) Visitor Center Aug. 10. The 7:30 p.m. program will be composed of Bach, Havelaar and Mendelssohn. CMBG is located at 132 Botanical Gardens Drive.
