Cora May Hanna Owen, 91, of Wiscasset died Feb. 8, 2016.

Cora was born on Dec. 1, 1924 to Thomas J. Hanna and Lulu (Rowe) Hanna of Five Islands, Georgetown.

Cora was the author of over 20,000 Christian poems. Over 600 of them were accepted for publication and appeared in religious periodicals and children’s program books. She was the author of two books of Christian poems, “Timeless Treasure” and “Faith Is Sight.”

Cora was an active member of the Wiscasset Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset where she served as a Bible teacher for 70 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Gordon C. Pinkham and his wife Marie of St. Augustine, Florida and Gary H. Pinkham and his wife Vickie of Boothbay; four grandchildren, Bonnie, Gary, Kim and Maggie; five great-grandchildren; one sister; three brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Wiscasset Bible Baptist Church. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wiscasset Bible Baptist Church, 143 Beechnut Hill Road, Wiscasset, ME 04578.
