Cooking with protein-rich beans

    A class on cooking with hearty and flavorful beans will be offered on Thursday, April 23, 6-8 p.m., at the FARMS Community Kitchen, 323 Main Street, Damariscotta (above the Rising Tide Market). Come sit on one of the comfortable stools around the Community Kitchen’s central island and help whole foods cook Sharon Sandstrum prepare three protein-rich dishes demonstrating the versatility of legumes and beans: Asian Marinated Tofu; Quick Chickpea Curry; and Tempeh Loaf.

    These dishes are vegetarian, gluten free and made with local, organic ingredients as available. The cost of $25 includes a generous sampling of all the dishes and take-home recipes.
