During early November, Boothbay Region Adult Ed has some fun, interesting and informative classes scheduled! Don't miss out on the class you want to take! Be sure to register early to avoid disappointment. Classes that do not have the minimum number of students needed to run the class are canceled 24-48 hours in advance of the class so as not to inconvenience our instructors.

A Red Cross Babysitter Certification course is being offered on November 4 and 18 taught by a certified instructor. Originally the first class was scheduled for October 28, however the instructor had a conflict that date. This six-hour course provides age 11-15 year olds who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. The class will meet at BRES, 2-5 p.m., and the cost is $60.

On Monday, November 9, join Mary Norwood, owner Merry Auld Tea, to explore the world of tea ... social aspects, some history, legends and health benefits. We will taste a variety of premium teas and learn to make the perfect cup of tea! You will gain a whole new appreciation for the tea leaf and take home a sample packet of teas. The class meets in the home sciences room at the elementary school from 6 to 8 p.m. The $18 fee includes the take home tea packet.

The holidays with family gatherings are coming up, and if you are looking for different side dishes that are new and contemporary or a twist on the traditional? Look no more! Join Kim at Eventide for Creative Holiday Sides on Tuesday, November 10! She will show you how easy it is to make some flavorful dishes to complement any meal. The class meets at Eventide from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The fee is $18, which includes tasting the delicious side dishes.

In Estate Planning and Elder Law you'll learn the importance of planning ahead. Topics include: estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, gift and estate taxes, the importance of asset titling, the role of your personal representative, and what affect it might have on your eligibility for MaineCare-funded nursing home care, legal issues commonly faced by the elderly. Married, single, old or young, rich or poor, you are likely to learn something useful This one evening workshop is on Thursday, November 12, 6-8 p.m., and the cost is $10.

To register for Adult Ed courses complete the registration form in the brochure, or print one from our website: boothbayae.org. Include payment and mail to the address on the form.
