Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor to hold open house May 14

Tue, 05/03/2016 - 8:30am

The Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor is excited and pleased to share its newly renovated building with the community on May 14 from 2-4 p.m. Tours of the building will be available as well as light refreshments and snacks.

This open house is one of many 250th church anniversary events planned throughout 2016. It celebrates and shows all of the tremendous work that has gone into the renovation project over the last several years.

Knickerbocker Group delivered a fabulous design that is very well thought out. Access throughout the building is significantly enhanced by a larger and relocated stairwell in addition to a new elevator servicing all three levels. The church office has been conveniently relocated to the main entrance off the church parking lot improving both community service and building safety. Flexible worship and meeting space has been added featuring a new chapel and library with dedicated storage for historical church archives. A fully renovated kitchen and Sunday school space round out these changes improving the church’s ability to serve its members and the community well into the future.

In addition, the Food Pantry will be showing off its newly enlarged and improved space. The Church would like to thank all the contractors who made this project happen with minimal disruption to our worship and outreach, most specifically, Frohmiller Construction.
