Dear Editor:

I’m wondering what the Boothbay Harbor Sewer District board’s agenda is, in allowing its manager to run for the office of trustee for the Boothbay Region Water District, its largest customer.

It seems that this is a conflict of interest. I am curious if any discussions dealing with the sewer district would consider the water district customers first, and not the sewer district’s.

I also think that the managers of either district, when running for the board of the other, would not create as productive an atmosphere as they would without a special interest group as a part of them. 

I think the citizens of Boothbay need to come up with a candidate that has no interest other than the customers they represent.
