The Central Lincoln County YMCA will host its grand reopening and annual meeting on Sunday, April 29 at 1 p.m. and would like to invite all of its members, volunteers and friends from around the community to this special event.

Beginning promptly at 1 p.m., Meagan Hamblett, CLC YMCA CEO, will welcome those in attendance and kick off the festivities. Arts and Humanities Director, Emily Mirabile will lead Y-Arts participants in a special performance, followed by a celebration with special guest speaker, Don Carrigan of WCSH 6, the architect of the construction and renovation project, Tor Glendenning of 44 Degrees, John Scott, owner of JF Scott Construction, and finally, the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The annual meeting portion of the afternoon will be, in part, to educate, celebrate and recognize — educate about what the Y does and who it supports, celebrate the accomplishments, and recognize community volunteers, outgoing and incoming board members.

Following the formal events, guests will have an opportunity to tour the Y and see firsthand all the improvements made in the construction and renovation project, including the membership welcome center, new and expanded healthy living center, new locker rooms for men and women, new cycling and TRX studio, kids zone, multi-gen space and kitchen to name a few. Also, guests will be able to view some of the Y’s program offerings, including group exercise, gymnastics, SYNRGY and tennis demos; participate in a group photo around the new raised track; have fun in the photo booth; take part in a special FARMS at the Y planting project; and socialize and partake in delicious food offerings from the staff of FARMS at the Y and Spectrum Generations.

The Y will also offer special membership incentives – those who take out an annual membership at the grand reopening will be entered in a drawing for win a family four-pack to the Sea Dogs, and a free annual membership valued up to $724!

In addition, anyone who would like to try the Y for free can do so from April 30 through May 6. Those signing up for an annual membership by May 6 will be entered in a drawing to win their choice of the following: (1) one week of summer camp for one child, experience invaluable; (2) five-session pack of personal training valued at $200; or (3) new SYNRGY, two classes per week for two months, valued at $192.

The event is free and open to the public; however, registering with the Y front desk is appreciated. Stop by or call 563-9622 before April 23. The Y looks forward to sharing this special event with the community.
