The Clamshell Quilters will meet Monday, Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church on the Mills Road in Newcastle.

Host Judy Sala will show us how to make a fabric bowl out of clothes line and fabric strips. She predicts everyone should go home with a completed project. Here’s what you need: sewing machine with a zigzag stitch; a machine foot to accommodate it, and size 90/14 needle; 1.25- to 1.5-inch fabric strips, scrappy or color coordinated (bring your own, or use the scrap fabric available at the meeting); thread in either a neutral color or to match your fabric, along with two full bobbins to match your thread; and scissors. Judy will provide a kit for $3 with enough cording for a bowl, a clip and some tape.
