Dear Editor:

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, generous donors and community friends who helped make this year’s Southport fair another great success. Many hours go into the planning, collecting, pricing, preparing and cooking, and we greatly appreciate all the people who make it all possible. Southport Island is a very special community and the fair is truly a community effort.

Thanks, too, to all of you who came in spite of the rain to shop, or to delight your taste buds with some of the delectable goodies at the food table or cookie walk or to enjoy a lobster roll or chicken salad roll lunch. This year we were delighted to have the singers from the Carousel Music Theatre share their musical talents during the luncheon.

With the success of the fair we will be able to maintain our little “Church on the Hill” and to fulfill our ministry to the community and to be able to help when and where there is a need.

We are blessed to be a part of such a supportive community. Thanks again to everyone!
