Chowder, memory stories, and Excel classes offered through Adult Ed

A great way to breeze through the rest of winter is to treat yourself to one or more of the many and diverse classes offered through Boothbay Region Adult Education.

Bet's Great Chowders I class is full, but, her Great Chowders II class has available spaces. Bet, of Bet's Famous Fish Fry in Boothbay, mixes the history of chowder with a lot of clams and some great fun. Registration fee is $12, with a supply fee of $9 to be paid to Bet on class night. The class will be held on Thursday, March 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Do you have life stories you'd like to share with your children and grandchildren? Join retired English Teacher, Cathy Jewitt, for a four-session class on “Telling and Writing Your Story”. Topics will include discussions on how to organize your memories and make your words come alive. By the end of the class, students will have a wonderful story to pass on. Classes begin Monday, March 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. The fee is $45.

Basic and advanced Excel classes are being offered to those wishing to learn add to their resumes or for use at home. To learn Excel, take the Basic Excel class which runs Tuesday through Thursday, Feb. 28 to March 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.. To take Excel to the next level, Advanced Excel classes cover how to build complex worksheets, use advanced formulas, connect multiple pages and sort, hide, and analyze data. Advanced Excel classes are available Tuesday through Thursday, March 8 to March 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.
