Chamber to host LCI Fiber Optic’s ‘Fiber 101’Business After Hours

Tue, 05/16/2017 - 8:15am

The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be co-sponsoring LCI Fiber Optic’s, “Fiber 101: Everything you ever wanted to know about Fiber Optic Broadband but were afraid to ask.” The presentation will be held May 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Harborside Tavern. The evening is being hosted and presented by LCI Fiber Optic Networks: Chamber members and invited guests are encouraged to join the experts from LCI Fiber Optic Networks for an evening of food, drink, mingling and a look into the future.

LCI has deployed hundreds of miles of O.P.E.N.™ fiber optic broadband from Belfast to Boothbay Harbor. Thousands of Midcoast customers are already using the super-fast, reliable fiber optic broadband — and another 4,000 Midcoast homes and businesses have LCI fiber sitting outside of their door — right now. Many in the Boothbay Harbor region.

Come learn all about fiber optics — how tiny glass tubes, thinner than a human hair, can deliver virtually unlimited data, voice and video on waves of light — literally at the speed of light. Learn how fiber optic broadband is different than the cable company’s internet, or DSL over a copper phone line, or wireless service. Learn about fiber’s blazing speeds (up to a Gigabit and beyond); its symmetrical downloads and uploads; and its future proof design.

Fiber optics is revolutionizing the way we use the internet — and it is available many parts of the Boothbay Harbor region — now! Internet Protocol TV (200+ HD channels) and full phone service is also available over fiber.

LCI invites you to come learn about this new technology — and how it is changing the way we live, work and play (and it’s is more affordable than you think). LCI will provide maps of the area, detailing exactly where their fiber network already exists in the Boothbay Harbor region — and where they plan to build next.

LCI, along with Tidewater Telecom and Lincolnville Telephone, are part of the “LTC Family of Companies.” LCI is proud to be a family owned Maine company. Headquartered in Nobleboro, just 45 minutes from the Boothbay Harbor region, LCI’s 50 employees (engineers, technicians, and customer service representatives) are ready to provide their customers with the excellent service from a local business.

Please contact the Chamber at 633-2353 to register for this event.
