This year’s annual Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce awards dinner and annual meeting have been combined into one event, taking place at the Carousel Music Theater on June 9.

“It’s the first time we’ve done it this way but I think it will work well,” Executive Director Rick Prose said. “We’re looking for an opportunity to introduce ourselves and our new staff to the region and show everyone who we are while honoring outstanding businesses in the area.”

Prose said he is really looking forward to having the dinner at the Carousel, which is located right next to the Chamber’s office on Townsend Avenue and across from Hawke Motors.

“The Carousel’s been here a long time and is worthy of recognition,” Prose said. “We’ve got cast and crew lined up to do show tunes for the entertainment — it’s an opportunity for us to have some wine, talk some business and kick off the summer season in style.”

The dinner will be catered by Ralph Smith, with desserts by Starlight Custom Cakes. There will be a cash bar.

Winners of the annual chamber awards are currently being finalized, and will be announced in next week’s paper.
