Chamber of Commerce members select finalists for annual Community Awards

    The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the annual Community Awards finalists in each category. The Community Awards Survey was mailed to Chamber members and community members were also encouraged to submit their nominations for each category.  The nominees were then voted on by the membership of the Chamber. The five categories include: Business Improvement, Community Service, Environmental Leader, Customer Service and Special Volunteer Award.

    The annual Community Awards is an opportunity for Chamber members to select the individuals and businesses that make a significant contribution to the economic development and quality of life we enjoy here in our region. 

    The winners will be announced at the Chamber’s annual Community Awards Dinner and Meeting to be held on Thursday, June 8 at the Newagen Seaside Inn from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Limited seating is available so reserve your tickets early. Shuttle service is available from the Boothbay Harbor Town Municipal Lot. The Shuttle Service begins at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m.  

    The evening includes a social hour with cash bar followed by a buffet dinner and dessert. Dynamic TED Talks speaker, Jess Knox, will share his insight into the importance of community and why thinking outside the box plays such an important role in the long-term economic development of our region.

    Customer Service Award: 1. Bath Savings Institution; 2. Eventide Epicurean Specialties; 3. Balmy Days Cruises

    Community Improvement Award: 1. The Boothbay Harbor Country Club; 2. BRCTV; 3. The Community Center

    Special Volunteer Award: 1. Jane Good; 2. Holly Stover; 3. Susan Brackett.
