Center for Teaching and Learning open house on Oct. 19

Sat, 10/18/2014 - 10:30am

The Center for Teaching and Learning, a K-8 independent school in Edgecomb, will hold its first open house during the 2014-15 school year on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 3:30 until 5 p.m. All members of the midcoast community are cordially invited to tour the school, meet the faculty, and ask questions about the program. A second open house will take place on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.

CTL opened its doors on Cross Point Road in 1990, under the direction of educator Nancie Atwell. The school is accredited through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and has state and federal tax-exempt status as a non-profit organization. Tuition is approximately one-third that of other area independent schools, and generous tuition assistance is available. CTL serves up to 80 children in five groupings: K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

CTL is an award-winning school, with a faculty famous for great teaching. The program is challenging and interesting, the building is beautiful and inviting, and the students are motivated and high achieving.

The two open houses will provide the public with a chance to see how the school is organized, review its resources, and talk with the faculty. If you wish to visit CTL at another time, please call Scott MacDonald, our head of school, to schedule a day to attend our all-school morning meeting, 8:30-8:50 a.m. at 207-882-9706.
