Spring break 2015 is destined to be a creative experience for participants in the Triple Threat Performance Arts Camp, presented by the Chocolate Church Arts Center, April 20-24.

The descriptive phrase “triple threat” with origins in sports, is now a common way to describe a performer who sings, acts and dances. During the week, students age 10-13 will be introduced to the basics in all three areas of performance.  Space is limited to 30 students.

A variety of rewarding workshops, guided by experienced and talented faculty, will be conducted in the CCAC annex and on the main stage, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. 

Theater instructor Kyle Aarons has traveled cross country with Children's Stage Adventures, helping students stage plays after only one week of rehearsals.  He is currently a member of Cast Aside in Portland.

Ashley Steeves will be the dance instructor. As artistic director of the Resurgence Dance Company,  Steeves writes and produces original dance performances for the Midcoast community.  The musical team are accomplished locals with years of experience. 

Sessions will be rotated throughout the week so every day is new and exciting. In addition to music, theater and dance, students will be introduced to behind the scene aspects such as make-up, sound/light techniques, and costumes.

 Visits from the Art Van will add visual arts to the week.

The “triple threat” performance art camp is designed to expose curious participants to the basics of theatre arts, music and dance and to foster an appreciation for the dedication and real work involved with performance arts.  The registration fee is $125. The Chocolate Church Arts Center operates in a re-purposed 1847 church located at 804 Washington Street in Bath.
