Catherine McClinch, 29, died unexpectedly Jan. 23, 2016.

She was born Sept. 11, 1986 in Trumbull, Connecticut to Nancy and Terry McClinch. She was a part-time resident of the Boothbay Harbor region for 28 years.

Catherine loved her time in the region. You could find her walking, reading, and enjoying greeting people and friends at Ocean Point in the mornings. She would then go to the YMCA and swim her laps, sing, and play hoops. In the evenings you would find Catherine out dining at some of her favorite restaurants, dancing at Robinson’s Wharf or sitting in the front row of the Opera House enjoying the music. Thursday nights she would conduct the band on the library lawn as the assistant band leader. She enjoyed being on the water with her dad in the boat, asking him to go faster. She enjoyed playing with her books, dolls and listening to her music. Her favorite was James Taylor.

She is survived my her parents, Nancy and Terry McClinch of Fairfield, Connecticut; a brother, Sean and his wife Kristen and their children James, Fin and Hannah of Trumbull, Connecticut; her sister, Kimberly of Manhattan, New York; grandmothers, Anita Gorton of Lordship, Connecticut and Virginia McClinch of Fairfield, Connecticut; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held at the end of the week in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Catherine began swimming at the Boothbay Region YMCA as a child. Donations can be made in her name to the YMCA’s aquatics program for other children to learn how to swim.
