Carousel Music Theater presents Teacher Appreciation Week

Thu, 09/24/2015 - 7:00pm

Wow, I can’t believe it was nearly four months ago when the 2015 cast of the Carousel Music Theater arrived in Boothbay Harbor. This group of young people have been a joy to work with. Not only are they talented but they are super nice. If you have not had the opportunity to meet them yet this weekend is your last chance.

You may have seen them around town this summer as they enjoyed all the activities our village has to offer. Although, they may not have been as recognizable as in years past since we didn’t have the classic blonde, brunette and a red headed girls this summer. You may have seen them out and about as they enjoyed a reggae cruise recently on a lucky Sunday night off or aboard the Eastwind. They often breakfast at Cod’s Head where they rave about the steak and eggs and the smoky hash. If you were lucky enough to hear them at one of the local karaoke nights you were given a special treat.

Not only did this hard working cast have fun around town they also could be found working for  other businesses. You may have met Kathleen at the YMCA as she taught a Zumba class or at Mama D’s serving breakfast. Maybe you met Ian at the Red Cup or Jennifer at Fisherman’s Wharf this September making a little extra money to take back home for fall expenses as they audition for their next role.

If you haven’t guessed the management staff of the Carousel are very proud of this group of young people. As we begin a new school year we must say goodbye to the cast of 2015 and go back to our real jobs, as teachers. But before we do we would like to thank all the other teachers out there who work so hard to see their students succeed. This group of young people are on their way to making their dreams come true thanks to a teacher like you. We are, therefore, declaring the dates of Sept. 23-26 Teacher Appreciation Week at the Carousel. We would like to invite all of you teachers and former teachers to spend an evening with us at the reduced rate of $29. This price includes your dinner as well as the Broadway cabaret performed during dinner and the original costumed review that follows.

Our final review for 2015, "Y’All Come Back Saloon," features country music from yesterday and today, from Johnny Cash to Taylor Swift and many greats in between. Don’t miss the fun! Call 207-633-5297 to reserve your seat today.
