Something old and something new: Some of the funniest Silent Buster Keaton comedies ever made, accompanied live by the Andrew Alden Ensemble, a contemporary and electronic chamber music group from Boston, Massachusetts, will be at The Harbor Theatre Oct. 2 and 3.

Included in the film line up is Keaton's first independent film of 1922, “One Week.”

In this film, two newlyweds, Keaton and Sybil Seely, receive a build-it-yourself house as a wedding gift. The house can be built, supposedly, in “one week.”

A rejected suitor secretly re-numbers packing crates. The movie recounts Keaton's struggle to assemble the incorrectly numbered parts.

The other three films are: "Haunted House" (1921), and from 1922, "The Blacksmith" and "Cops."

The Andrew Alden Ensemble brings together a fascinating collaboration of rock music and contemporary classical composition including percussion, synthesizer, piano, violin, viola and electronic production.

Their music combines the influence of Steve Reich, Philip Glass, David Lang, Radiohead, Velvet Underground and Krzysvtof Penderecki to create a beautiful and haunting sound.

Andrew Alden Ensemble presents Buster Keaton at the Harbor Theatre Thursday, Oct. 2 and Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets $10/adults, $8/seniors/children at the door.

Reservations accepted in advance. Call the theater at 207-633-0438.

The Harbor Theatre is located in the shopping mall at 185 Townsend Avenue, across from Hannaford in Boothbay Harbor.
