BRHS students head to Washington, D.C.

Fri, 10/24/2014 - 10:30am

Boothbay Region High School senior Nicole LaBrecque and BRHS junior Hannah Morley have been nominated to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 14, 15 and 16.

The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields.

During the three-day Congress, LaBrecque and Morley will join students from across the country and hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners talk about leading medical research; be given advice from Ivy League and top medical school deans on what to expect in medical school; witness stories told by patients who are living medical miracles; and learn about the cutting-edge advances and the future in medicine and medical technology.

LaBrecque is the daughter of Kevin and Mindy LaBrecque of Southport. Morley is the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Morley of Boothbay.
