BRHS graduation week coming to a busy close

    The Boothbay Region High School class of 2018 can see the end of its busy week of events, marching practices and final meetings with teachers and administration.

    Teachers’ Awards to students will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at the high school. At 7 p.m., seniors will receive awards and scholarships and undergraduates will receive honors and book awards at the annual Awards Night.

    Friday, June 8 is the day all grads and their families have been waiting for. The day will start at 8 a.m. with Class Day, when seniors will poke fun at one another and reminisce over the past four years spent at BRHS.

    The graduation ceremony begins at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m. After the processional of the 54 graduates, senior class president and salutatorian Page Brown will give the Welcome Address. The Honors essay will be given by student body president and honors student Lillian Sherburne. The Farewell Address will be delivered by valedictorian Summer Chamberlin. Interim Superintendent of Schools Robert Webster will give an address and the BRHS Chorus will sing a song before the awarding of diplomas by Webster and BRHS Principal Dan Welch.

    After graduation is the Grand March and Alumni Ball at 8 p.m. at BRHS. Admission is $5 per person and doors open at 7 p.m. Lastly, at 10 p.m., is the Project Graduation trip.
