Boothbay region students making Community Connections

Wed, 09/28/2016 - 10:45am

The second annual Community Connections will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Boothbay Region High School gymnasium. This event focuses on connecting students in grades 8 through 12 with local businesses and community organizations.

Community Connections organizers Brooke Newberg (BRHS - guidance counselor), Pauline Dion (Boothbay Sea and Science Center - president ) Kerrin Erhard (BRHS - college access counselor) and George Schimert (Boothbay Harbor Country Club - executive chef) have joined forces to create this unique event that offers students the chance to learn more about local job and volunteer opportunities and to explore, firsthand through conversation, future career paths.

According to the organizers, keeping our community a place where our youth are connected, feel a deep sense of belonging and know that they are valued are the guiding principles upon which this event is built.

Businesses and organizations interested in participating need to email Newberg at bnewberg@csd3-brhs.org or Dion at pacojoes2@aol.com by Oct. 17, 2016.
