Boothbay Region Lions Club

Mon, 03/05/2018 - 10:00am

The Boothbay Region Lions met on Feb. 28 with 22 members in attendance and two guests. Lion Terry provided piano music which included “The Star-Spangled Banner” and a Lion Roar song. The keys on the upright were smiling!

The dinner crew made sure we were all well fed including dessert. Many thanks to Lions Don and wife Marcia for helping Lions Alan and Mary. The tulips on the tables were a welcome sign of spring.

Lions International has sent our Membership Appreciation patch for the banner for 2016-17. Any Lion interested in attending the convention please see the secretary for information.

The nominating committee has been busy lining up next year’s officers. Interested? Contact Lions Glenn, Mary, Karen or Tom N. Voting will take place in April.

Plans are underway for our summer raffle calendar, Cabbage Island, our annual fundraiser Turkey Dinner for the Community Center and much more ... did someone say Bingo!?

Donations this time around were given to New Hope For Women and the Ronald McDonald House.

Tail Twister Tom N. was back at it – was it ugly shirt night, Lion Steve? Lion Wendy’s sling came off for dinner? We learned guest Rhea loves Lion Connie’s rum cake so she was fined. And, Lion Connie just had to be fined as well for profiteering!

Lion Duane won the cheer raffle and Lion Joe the 50/50.

Our next meeting is March 14. Social time starts at 6 p.m. – come join us!
