Boothbay Region Garden Club: Thanks for Festival of Trees support

Thu, 12/18/2014 - 11:00am

On behalf of the Boothbay Region Garden Club I would like to thank all those who made our 12th annual 2014 Festival of Trees a resounding success at the historic and beautifully decorated Opera House.

It is because of generous community members and local businesses who donated theme trees, auction items, food and other holiday items, and gifts of money that we are able to continue to give back to the community. Your purchases have enabled us to continue to give scholarships, camperships, provide school gardens, Memorial Gardens at Boothbay Center, the Blue Star Memorial Marker, wreaths and window boxes for public buildings, garden therapy at St. Andrews Village, and Christmas trees to those in need and more.

Garden Club members, under the able guidance of our Festival of Trees co-chairs, Alice Schambra and Leslie Cook, and the four “shop keepers” and their helpers have worked tirelessly for a year to prepare for this glorious event. We are so grateful to our patrons, sponsors, auction item donors, and tree donors including Garden Club members who have donated time, money, and items for sale.

Thanks go the Kevin Kiley and Cathy Sherrill for magnificently decorating the Opera House. Others are:
