H.M.S. Bounty  film and lecture Aug. 10

“No Mutiny This Time,” filmmaker Neil Novello’s thought-provoking lecture and video presentation about the circumstances leading to the sinking of the tall ship H.M.S. Bounty  during Hurricane Sandy on Oct. 29, 2012,  will be presented in the library’s main room, Wednesday evening, Aug. 10, 6 p.m.
Bounty & Her Captain,” the video portion of his presentation is “not a documentary but a “video essay, like a print essay,” said Novello. A personal perspective he describes as, “part testimonial, part shipbuilding, and part Hollywood ballyhoo.”
Since 1985, Novello's award- winning career has covered nearly every type of production, documentaries, television news, and family biographies. His documentaries about the Portsmouth Naval Prison in Kittery, Maine, were featured at the New Hampshire and Portland Maine film festivals and are available on DVD. Visit www.novellospeaks.com for more information on Novello’s interesting research and filmmaking.
