Boothbay: Good neighbors

Wed, 10/19/2016 - 10:15am

    Dear Editor:

In olden days, convinced they would succeed, entrepreneurs took deep breaths, mortgaged homes and, only in America, opened new businesses.

    Some were successes; others failed.

Now we have TIF. All Boothbay voters need do is vote YES for a wooden pellet manufacturer to construct and open a factory in Boothbay's designated TIF area.

    Without risk.

Should, his business (God forbid) fail, he will be free of sleepless nights.

Because of a "credit worthiness bond” given him by Boothbay voters, this failed pellet man will see his debts paid by us. We voted for this.

    Three cheers for TIFs

    Paul E. McArdle
