The Boothbay Region High School field hockey team got a double overtime win at home against St. Dom's after losing to Telstar last week at Bethel and before a home loss to Lisbon on Monday, September 29. Boothbay is now 4-5-1 and ranked ninth in the Heal point standings as of Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Freshman Sydney Meader scored her second goal of the game (she also had two assists) at the 7:20 mark of the second 8-minute overtime to give Boothbay a 4-3 win over the visiting St. Dominic Academy Saints on Friday, Sept. 26. Meader's first goal tied the score at 1-1 late in the first half after St. Dom's Hannah Trottier-Brown gave the visitors a 1-0 lead at the 17:06 mark.

Boothbay took a 3-2 lead after goals from freshman Jo Shaw and sophomore Nicole Clarke after St. Dom's Becca Howard's early second half goal gave the Saints the lead.

A late goal by St. Dom's Callie Samson forced the first overtime period in which both teams failed to score.

Meader's winning goal came off a nice pass from junior Samantha Carter.

Before hosting St. Dom's, Boothbay faced and lost to a good Telstar (5-5) team, 4-1, on Sept. 24. Nicole Clarke scored Boothbay's only goal.

Against the now 8-1 Lisbon Greyhounds, Boothbay got few opportunities to score. Seahawk goalie Erica Eames made 15 saves but the visitors returned home 3-0 winners. Charlotte Mooney scored two goals and Kate Philbrook got one for the Greyhounds.
