Boothbay continues winning

Seahawks beat Wolverines 71-40

The Boothbay Seahawks started slowly in the first half Jan. 26 against Mountain Valley Conference rival Wiscasset mounting an eight-point lead against their winless opponent. But the second half was a different story and Boothbay won its 10th game this season, 71-40.

Boothbay’s strong second half was fueled by sophomore Hunter Crocker who scored all 18 of his points in the final half. Boothbay was led in scoring by Kyle Ames who had 23 points with five three-pointers. Other Seahawk scorers were Steve Reny with 17, Eli Gudroe with five, Kaeden Davis with three, and Ben Pearce and Jacob Wilson with two each.

Wiscasset was led in scoring by Zach Reed with 19. Other Wolverine scorers were Kobe Carrier with seven, Matt Chapman and Ron Drake with four apiece, and Dylan Orr and Caleb Gabriele with two apiece.

Boothbay is now in sixth place in the Class C Boys South Heal point standings. Wiscasset is 0-15 and in 16th place.

The Seahawks’ next game is Thursday, Feb. 1 against Mount Abram (1-13) in Salem. The Wolverines host Richmond (11-3) on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
