The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce's latest Business After Hours event was held at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library on Nov. 19.

The business networking event gave people an opportunity to view the renovations to the library and enjoy an evening of good company and good food, provided by Caper's Catering.

The menu included mini sandwiches, lobster deviled eggs, caprese, homemade dip with veggies, garlic crostini and more.

Chamber Executive Director Tony Cameron thanked the library for hosting, and welcomed new chamber member Kate Winslow of Wanser's Natural Market, located near the Boothbay Common.

Library Director Tim McFadden spoke about the library renovations, including the next two phases of the plan. Phase II is the installation of an elevator, and Phase III involves creating a second-floor walkway between the library and the Used Bookstore, with an expanded storeroom at the store. He talked about the positives the library brings to the community and how the renovations will allow fro more programs to be held at the library.

Seven door prizes were handed out in total. Three were library book bags with a mug and note cards designed by Jim Taliana. One held a gift certificate to the Used Bookstore, another a signed copy of Richard Ford’s latest book “Let Me Be Frank with You,” and the last held a signed print by local artist Thomas Block. Four Christmas ornaments donated by Sweeney Ridge in Edgecomb were also given away.

Winners were Tony van Hasselt, Michael Maxim, John Seitzer, Christopher Austin, Marty Helman, Ben Rankin and Ken Rayle.
