The Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club invites the public to an author talk and dinner on Tuesday, Aug. 22 with Steven Hantzis, author of “Rails of War.”

“Rails of War” is a compelling story of Americans who accomplish great things against prohibitive odds. A gritty, narrative non-fiction, told from an enlisted man’s perspective, is the story of the 721st Railway Operating Battalion as they operate the hazardous Bengal & Assam Railway to supply the Allied war effort in CBI. Hantzis’ father, a journeyman machinist for the New York Central, was a staff sergeant in the battalion.

The author and his wife are yacht club members residing on Barter's Island, and in Alexandria, Virginia.

Ticket price is $30 per person. Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m., Steven Hantzis will begin his talk at 6 p.m. with dinner following at 7.
