Longtime selectmen and former chairman of the Boothbay Harbor Board of Selectmen, Bill Hamblen, was nominated by his fellow selectmen to take up the post of vice chairman recently vacated due to the resignation of former vice chairman Jay D. Warren. Warren resigned from the board on Jan. 26.

Hamblen’s nomination was seconded, then unanimously approved by the other selectmen. Hamblen accepted the position with gratitude and began his duties immediately.
