An area man with a lengthy criminal record has been indicted for a Class B felony charge.

Dustin Bibber, 25, of Boothbay, was indicted by the Lincoln County Grand Jury for charges stemming from an August incident.

The indictment stems from an incident earlier in the summer when Bibber allegedly broke into a relative’s house and made off with cash before being arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

A relative was awoken at 5:30 a.m. August 9 by a noise in her house. When she investigated, she allegedly found Bibber in her house.

Bibber reportedly admitted to using a credit card to “jimmy” the lock open and enter the house when he was not allowed to. The relative told Bibber to leave, which he reportedly did.

However, several hours later the female relative found that a large sum of cash was missing from the house. Bibber was arrested two days later, on Aug. 11, by Sheriffs Lt. Michael Murphy.

The alleged break-in, Bibber is facing charges of Class B burglary and Class D theft by unauthorized taking. Class B crimes carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, and up to a $20,000 fine. E was court-ordered to have no contact with the victim and to not return to the scene of the crime and to refrain from using drugs or alcohol and not possess any weapons. The theft by unauthorized taking was a Class D charge, which is a misdemeanor.

Bibber was indicted in March for violating the conditions of his release and theft by deception, and was charged in September 2013 for escape.

Bibber was also arrested in January 2013 for furnishing a place for minors to consume liquor and in 2012 for resisting arrest and assault.
