Author publishes second book

Daughter of Wiscasset resident celebrates at local restaurant

Author Kathleen Collins, daughter of Jim Collins of Wiscasset, recently published her second book, "Dr. Joyce Brothers: The Founding Mother of TV Psychology."

According to the website, amazon.com, Collins is associate professor and librarian at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (City University of New York) in New York City. She has graduate degrees in psychology, journalism, and library science and is an experienced author who has studied and written about television, media, and popular culture both historical and current. She is the author of "Watching What We Eat: The Evolution of Television Cooking Shows" (2009).

Jim Collins said he learned of his daughter's second book during a dinner with her and her husband, Gerard, at the Little Village Bistro in August.

"Dr. Joyce Brothers: The Founding Mother of TV Psychology" was released in mid-September and is available on amazon.com and other locations.
