Arts & Yachts’ thank you

Dear Editor:

The Lincoln Arts Festival, a non-profit organization, provides opportunities for students, artists and the general public to participate in and view cultural activities. The Board of Directors acknowledges the terrific support of local businesses and volunteers for the 22nd Arts & Yachts Show and Sale Aug. 19-21.

Hodgdon Yacht Services provided us with a cool, pleasant, and interesting venue inside two of their boat sheds and on their dock. Thank you to Amy Armstrong, dock master, for finding slips at the marina for three boats to be on exhibit. We appreciate their willingness to clear space and allow The Lincoln Arts Festival the use of their property for the Show.

Martin Page provided outdoor portable toilets for the event. Thank you Martin!

Conley’s Garden Center and Boothbay Region Greenhouses are always so generous in allowing us to decorate the boat shed venue with lighted trees, shrubs and flowering plants. Much appreciated!

Thank you to Mike Whitney of Family Thyme Catering for the delicious food available during the Show.

We would like to thank local restaurants who provided delightful refreshments for the Art Show reception: Robinson’s Wharf, Brown’s Wharf, Rocktide Inn, River’s End, Ocean Point Inn, House of Pizza, Eventide and Whale’s Tale.

At the Yacht Exhibit Alan Boyes and Roy Jenkins coordinated the classic models, Nat Wilson and staff provided instructional information related to sail design and construction, and Southport Island Marine provided one of their classic Lobster Cruisers and other boats on trailers. Artist Leslie Muir-Volpe did a great job laying out the Art Show and assisting artists with their set-up needs. Thank you all!

Thank you to the community for browsing, shopping and supporting the Lincoln Arts Festival!
