Artist signing this week at Boothbay Farmers Market

Mon, 06/29/2015 - 4:30pm

The Harbor Fest Booth will welcome internationally known resident artist Tony van Hasselt as the featured guest of the week at the Boothbay Farmers Market, Thursday, July 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. Boothbay Farmers Market is the official Harbor Fest home for the summer season.

Van Hasselt is a resident of East Boothbay, a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, author of several watercolor workshop books, and is a regular contributor to a variety of art magazines. Van Hasselt is a masterful teacher conducting several plein air watercolor workshops each year, here and abroad. He will conduct a plein air workshop in Boothbay this September.

The artist will be signing the 2015 Harbor Fest Collectors Print, which features a magnificent watercolor image he generously donated to the project. The Boothbay Farmers Market was chosen as the 2015 highlight for a variety of reasons. Most importantly, it is a true portrayal of the local collaboration and support that lives within our community. It's also the official home of the 2015 Harbor Fest Info Center, where visitors can learn more about the fest, purchase event tickets and meet weekly special guests. The farmers market will also be one of the “Stroke of Art” painting sites during the week-long event.

The 2015 Collectors print is sponsored by the first annual “A Stroke of Art” event, directed by Mary Phelps of COCO VIVO Artful Living, to support Harbor Fest and foster its future growth.
