The Boothbay Region Art Foundation’s (BRAF) most popular fundraising event of the year, “Art in the Square,” always gets a good jump start, opening on Nov. 28, otherwise known as, Black Friday.

The annual “Art in the Square” exhibit, at 1 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor, will be open weekends (Friday through Sunday) beginning Nov. 28 through January 2015.

With new works arriving to replace those sold, the gallery walls will continue to offer 100 square feet of original 12 by 12 “squares” of artwork. Rendered by a host of talented, well-known local artists, each piece is priced at $100, $25 of which goes to BRAF’s Scholarship and Student Show Awards.

This show gives new meanings to old sayings, like thinking inside the box for a change, or introducing a new attitude: that it’s really “hip to be square.”
