Letter to the Editor

In appreciation

    Dear Editor:

This past Sunday at the Boothbay Fire Department building, the reason we live in and love this community was never more evident.

Our dear friend and classmate and his family lost their home and possessions in an early morning fire in February and needed our help. Our community responded in a way only our community could! We decided we would have a fundraiser to help our friend, so we held a silent auction/raffle/feast/pie sale musical and the love, support and happiness shown was incredible.

We would like to thank Tim Sprague, Dick Spofford and Garry Blackman for their superb musical prowess, the Boothbay Fire Department for use of its venue, all the merchants and individuals for the donations of gifts and items to be raffled or auctioned, the countless friends of the Marston family for donations of food, desserts and cash.

To say the fundraiser was a fun loving success would be a huge understatement. So, to all our friends and family in the community and beyond, we would like to share our appreciation and say a big thank you for all your generosity, love and support. You are simply the best!
