Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Boothbay Railway Village I want to thank everyone that supported the 50th anniversary of Antique Auto Days as well as the Rails, Tails & Ales craft beer tastings, a fundraiser for the museum.

The events of July 19 and 20 were a success only because of the support of John Leonard, Josiah Henderson, Steve Williams, Doug Cameron, Bruce Bowler, Kevin Bowler, Cindy Farnham, Michelle Davis, Sue Sefik, George Sefick, Ann Dolloff, Steve Wieland, Lou MacDonald, Jon Stormont, Tim Hanley, Greg Laderer, Beth Laderer, Mark Keegan, Nat Wilson, Kerstin Suffrian, Susan Reynolds, Gene Fairfield, Sarah Strouss, Hope Haberland and Evelyn Andrews.

The car show is in partnership with Maine Obsolete Auto League and their members were especially supportive of our new-fangled ideas this year. Thank you as well to all of the other participating car clubs and car owners and to those who set-up in the swap meet and flea market area. More than 150 cars registered in the show this year from throughout Maine, New England and even the Mid-Atlantic states.

Thank you also to our amazing food vendors Downtown Kettle Corn, Tracy’s Maine Menu, Crust, Victory Lane Ice Cream and the Boothbay Region Lions Club for keeping all of our bellies full with what we heard was the best food ever at Antique Auto Days!

Special thanks also to all nine participating breweries: Funky Bow, Banded Horn, Boothbay Craft, Bigelow, Penobscot Bay, Rising Tide, Allagash, Sebago and Sheepscot Valley.

The museum is especially grateful to Win and Lori Mitchell and everyone at Boothbay Craft Brewery & Watershed Tavern for the event concept and the gifts of their time and talents that helped launch what we hope will be a great annual event, for the benefit of the entire region.

We can’t forget to thank Paul Johnson for the emergency loan of his sound system, The Crown Vics for two amazing rockabilly performances, and everyone who visited and participated this weekend.

The Boothbay region has many treasures. We know our museum is just one of the many nonprofits asking for your help and support. We thank you!
