Another zinger from Governor LePage

    Dear Editor:

Thanks to Governor LePage, I now realize that my work as a teacher over a 20-year period made me, along with the numerous colleagues with whom I worked, and the hundreds of thousands nationwide who choose to teach in our public schools, “a dime a dozen.” It's good to know this finally.

I'm sure that the current teacher workforce here in Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor are also glad to know this. It should help them work all the harder to help our kids learn. It should make it easier for them to spend even more time working with kids who have emotional and behavioral needs above and beyond classroom teaching. It should make it easier for our teachers to help kids become good citizens in a democracy that demands an informed citizenry.

A dime a dozen is way better, than, say, “totally worthless” wouldn't you say? At last, thanks to Governor LePage, we educators know that we do indeed have some value.
