Annaliese Rittershaus Brauman and Daniel Neff were married in a ceremony at The Steel Yard in Providence, Rhode Island at five thirty in the afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 30. The wedding was officiated by dear friend and fellow Massachusetts College of Art and Design alumni Frederic Gorman of Providence, R.I.

The bride is the daughter of Charles and Elaine Fossett Rittershaus of Malden, Massachusetts and Sprucewold, Boothbay Harbor, Maine; she is the granddaughter of Chester and Alice Fossett of Boothbay Harbor. The groom is the son of Ernest Genever of Warwick, Rhode Island.

Annaliese was attended by her sisters, Claire Rittershaus of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts; and Emily Rittershaus, of Worcester, Massachusetts; and her sister-in-law, Katie Hyman Rittershaus of Raleigh, North Carolina. Dan was attended by his friends, Robert Houllahan, David Allyn, and Nidal Fakhouri all of Providence, R.I. and all members of the Nicholson File Studio.

Music and much merriment was provided by members of the Extraordinary Rendition Band (ERB) of Providence. The wedding party processed into the ceremony to “Stand by Me” as styled by Otis Redding. The ERB led the newly wedded couple out with a New Orleans style medley that turned into a parade of guests, featuring “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

The bride and groom were each accompanied by their parents as they walked down the aisle. The ceremony included a handfasting and the bride and groom wrote and recited their own heartfelt vows.

The bride wore two handmade gold sequin gowns. For the ceremony, a champagne gold, single shouldered column style gown paired with a cathedral length veil, trimmed with gold lace. For the reception, an antique gold, full skirted ball gown especially good for twirling. The bridesmaids wore custom grey chiffon dresses to their own personal taste, and the groom and groom’s party wore matching bespoke charcoal three piece suits with black silk ties. The wedding party’s bouquets and boutonnières were a mix of pure white mini calla lilies, lysimachia, Bells of Ireland, trachelium, green ruscus, and eucalyptus - crafted by the bride and her family.

The reception dinner was served by four food trucks: Mijos Tacos, Gastros Gourmet Sausages & Hot Dogs, Friskie Fries, and in lieu of a cake, the entire contents of a Palagis Ice Cream Truck. DJ Ty Jesso played exclusively from his incredible collection of 45s at the reception — featuring soul, Motown, New Wave, rock, and disco. Metallic ribbon dancers waved overhead, making quite the fabulous shiny dance party. Games and a large barrel fire warmed many guests, while giant LOVE balls bounced through the crowd and hundreds of sparklers lit up the night. A festival of love indeed.

After a honeymoon at their cabin, Honeyhaus, in Sprucewold, they will reside in Providence.
