Wed, 11/19/2014 - 8:30am

The Boothbay Region Community Resources Council is excited to introduce Amy Winston, Ph.D, as its new Community Navigator. Amy started her new job on Nov. 12 and is excited to be a part of our community.

Winston’s last job was working as a committee analyst for the nonpartisan Office of Policy and Legal Analysis at the Maine Legislature. Prior to that, she worked at CEI in Wiscasset, where she directed the Lincoln County Economic Development Office (now the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission), assisting small businesses, towns and community development projects, such as farm to school purchasing. Now she will be working with people in need in our community.

Winston will serve as the single point of contact for anyone who needs assistance. She is presently in the “listen and learn mode” as she gets up to speed with the many facets of job and becomes more familiar with the BRCRC. Her strength in grant writing may come in handy, as well, as the organization will be looking for any grant funding that might be available.

Winston will have office hours every Monday-Wednesday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays by appointment. Her office is located at the main St. Andrews Campus Building, Suite 227, at the south entrance and up the stairs or, if accessibility is an issue, enter through the front entrance and take the elevator up to the 2nd floor. Her phone number is 207-350-6272 and her email address is brcrccommunitynavigator@gmail.com.

Winston knows that she has big shoes to fill as Michaela Stone brought both passion and compassion to the job. But with her background in cultural anthropology and community development she hopes to be well suited to the job of Community Navigator.

Winston is married and is the mother of Josee, who is almost 4. She enjoys living where she works and working where she lives and looks forward to helping the community by helping those in need.
