Allan D. Roscoe, USAF (Ret.), 70, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, died Feb. 5, 2015 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Alley) Roscoe, to whom he was married for 51 years.

He was born in Taunton, Massachusetts on June 3, 1944, and was the son of the late Frank P. and Virginia (Rice) Roscoe. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Allan retired as a highly decorated federal agent with the United States Air Force after 20 years of service.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, he was employed by Rich’s Department Store as the director of safety and security. He then went on to his true passion as a professor at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell for many years until his illness. Allan loved all of his students and they loved him. During his time at UMass, he was asked to take on the position of the UMass police chief, which he did for two years before returning to his position as professor.

He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepard in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Allan enjoyed spending his summers camping in Boothbay, where he and his wife recently purchased a home.

He will be remembered by all that knew him as always smiling, always loving, always forgiving, and always encouraging.

In addition to his wife, Allan is survived by his loving daughter, Kathleen M. Roscoe of Merrimack, New Hampshire; his adoring granddaughter, Sydney Roscoe; and his cherished sister, Joanne Rose of Taunton, New Hampshire.

It being his wish, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashua, New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Allan’s name to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
